Peter M. Bianca is a native of Johnston, Rhode Island. He began playing the clarinet at age 10. He maintains an active freelance career and has performed with the Worcester Symphony, New Bedford Symphony, Symphony NH, Cape Ann Symphony, Company Theater of Norwell, Darthmouth Symphony, Handel Society of Dartmouth, Palm Beach Symphony, Palm Beach Opera, Boca Raton Philharmonic Symphonia, Southwest Florida Symphony, Miami Symphony, and Florida Sunshine Pops. He has performed under the direction of Andrew Litton, H. Robert Reynolds, Gunther Schuller, Roberto Paternostro, Benjamin Zander, Richard Hayman, Jhaja Ling, and Leon Fleisher. In 2005, he made his Carnegie Hall debut as principal clarinet of the National Festival Wind Ensemble and returned again in 2007 as principal clarinetist of the National Festival Orchestra. In 2014, Dr. Bianca was featured on the GRAMMY nominated song, "All My Tomorrows" from the album With Love by Jeremy Fox. Dr. Bianca is dedicated to teaching the next generation of musicians and has served on the faculties of the University of Miami, Boston University Tanglewood Institute, Miami Conservatory of Music, Miami Music Project, Greater Miami Youth Symphony, and the Ars Flores Orchestra. Currently, Dr. Bianca is on faculty of South Shore Conservatory in Hingham, MA. In addition, Dr. Bianca is also co-founder and artistic director of the Rhode Island Clarinet Day which is held annually on the campus of the University of Rhode Island. His principal teachers include, Frank Marinaccio, David Seiler, Ethan Sloane, David Martins, and Margaret Donaghue. Mr. Bianca has participated in Masterclasses with Ricardo Morales, Franklin Cohen, Dan Gilbert, Greg Raden, and Andre Moisan. Mr. Bianca holds bachelors, masters and doctoral degrees in music education and woodwind performance from the University of New Hampshire, Boston University College of Fine Arts, and the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami. Mr. Bianca performs exclusively on Buffet-Crampon clarinets. He uses a Grabner K13* mouthpiece, BG super revelation ligature, and traditional Vandoren reeds strength 3.5/4. Mr. Bianca can be heard on Mark Custom, Emeritus, OKeh, Glowing Sky, and Naxos Record Labels.
